so you're a student...
at present i'll be hard pressed to talk about my "citizen journalism" subject with any authority, for one minute, let alone ten. people are being monumentally unhelpful in sharing any actual facts... neither the home office at lunar house, or it's forensic hq in birmingham were as obtuse in their replies as the press agency people i have spoken to today.
lets hope tomorrow is better.

museums
a few weeks back i went to see the wildlife photographer of the year (2008) exhibition at the natural history museum. the overall winning photograph reminded me of the taxidermy cabinets from a teashop in west wales. what made me write this post though was that all the work there was displayed on lightboxes, and after about 20 minutes a fuse went. you couldn't see anything, just the titles and the photographers names. it made me think about the whole world of digital photography. how many of the images being captured now are real, physical, photographs and how many are just electricity. we could be in a whole new dark age.
